Middle segment losing its popularity original language

Ukrainians began to drink less beer of mid-price segment — last year it was reduced by 9%. Company “Obolon” that reduced sales by 11.5% has suffered more than others. This trend is forcing producers to change their strategy — they place stake at economy and premium segments.
As Yaroslav Koval, Vice-President for marketing at Carlsberg Ukraine, said the competitive pressure in the economy segment was particularly strong, so the company decided to focus on premium brands. Thus, the share of beer “Baltika” has increased by 2 percentage points to 8.7%.
